“Every March, the UAE celebrates the Reading Month with a number of events that involve the participation of various institutions across the country. The events are aimed at raising awareness on the value of reading as a key factor for gaining knowledge, a gateway to other cultures, a practical way to acquire life skills, a driver for growth and advancement, and the cornerstone of the knowledge society.
The wide range of events and activities during this month reflects our wise leadership's commitment to fostering the culture of reading in the UAE. The Arab Reading Challenge, launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has become the largest knowledge project in the Arab world, and is one of the significant initiatives the UAE organises to encourage reading amongst community members. We at the Supreme Legislation Committee reiterate our commitment to actively participate in this significant annual initiative by providing an environment supportive of reading and knowledge acquisition in line with the national policies and trends. This participation helps to broaden the perspectives and the knowledge base of our employees, further enhancing their skills and competencies to innovate and create in the workplace.”
