The General Directorate for Identity and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai (GDIFA) has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Supreme Legislation Committee in the Emirate of Dubai (SLC), aimed at strengthening institutional cooperation and exchanging legislative knowledge, in line with Dubai’s future vision and the GDIFA’s strategy to develop government services and promote good governance.
The MoU was signed in the presence of His Excellency Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, GDIFA’s Director General, and His Excellency Ahmed Saeed bin Meshar Al Muhairi, SLC Secretary General. The MoU marks a strategic step towards integrating efforts in legal and legislative fields, developing institutional policies and procedures, and launching joint initiatives to enhance legislative awareness and reinforce the principles of good governance. The MoU aims to facilitate technical and advisory support to meet government excellence standards, implement specialised training programmes, and leverage digital solutions and artificial intelligence to enhance institutional efficiency.
H.E. Al Marri underscored the significance of the MoU, stating that it reflects the GDIFA’s commitment to promoting a favourable government work environment and fostering a culture of legislative compliance. “Collaboration with the Supreme Legislation Committee supports Dubai’s efforts in developing regulatory policies and enhancing the quality of government performance, which will further reinforce its global leadership in governance and institutional innovation,” added Al Marri.
In his remarks, H.E. Al Muhairi highlighted the importance of joint efforts between the SLC and the GDIFA to enrich legislative knowledge and enhance efficiency and institutional governance. He reaffirmed the SLC's commitment to further strengthening the foundation of a more adaptive and holistic legislative ecosystem, contributing to Dubai’s status as a model for legislative excellence and supporting the sustainable development trajectory of the Emirate.
The MoU aims to enhance mechanisms for knowledge exchange, implement best practices, and establish a more integrated and agile government model to support Dubai’s strategic objectives. Through this partnership, the two parties reaffirm their commitment to upgrading government services, enhancing legislative frameworks, and driving innovation in government performance.
