Statement by Ahmad Saeed bin Meshar SLC Secretary General Marking the 25th anniversary of Dubai Government Excellence Program
Statement by Ahmad Saeed bin Meshar SLC Secretary General Marking the 25th anniversary of Dubai Government Excellence Program
8 Sep 2022

"Today, we celebrate 25 years of remarkable success by the Dubai Government Excellence Program (DGEP), which was launched by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai. Since its inception, the DGEP has been a driving force behind the development of Dubai's government sector by creating a culture of quality, excellence, and creativity of government work.

Over the years, the DGEP has adopted various strategies to achieve the highest standards of organisational excellence by harnessing all the resources required for improving the overall performance and services of the Government of Dubai. The DGEP has been instrumental in enhancing the agility of the Emirate of Dubai to enable it to accommodate local and regional variables. This has been achieved by ensuring business continuity by adopting an integrated management system, based on the UAE standards of government excellence.

In alignment with Dubai’s vision to further enhance its leading international position, the DGEP has achieved its intended objectives by bringing a radical change in government performance levels, and contributed to developing administrative concepts, practices, and standards that guarantee the highest standards of excellence in the governmental sector.

Today, as we commemorate the 25th anniversary of the DGEP, we at the Supreme Legislation Committee in the Emirate of Dubai (SLC) wholeheartedly confirm our commitment to contributing to the success of the DGEP by assisting those in charge of managing it, so that the Dubai Government will maintain its well-deserved international position as a world-class model for performance management and governmental excellence.”
