On the International Day of Happiness, the Supreme Legislation Committee in the Emirate of Dubai (SLC) marks this special occasion to raise awareness on the importance of positivity, optimism, and happiness for improving the quality of life, achieving welfare for the community, ensuring institutional efficiency and excellence, and contributing to the national socio-economic development drive.
The UAE has set an exemplary model for the whole world by fostering happiness as a lifestyle, a community culture, and an objective for government work. This comes in line with the insightful vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, who said: “the major responsibility of the UAE government is to bring happiness to its people.”.
The UAE is committed to promoting community well-being by making available all means of achieving welfare and stability for its people, including nationals and residents, as per the directives of the wise leadership to place happiness of people as a priority while strategising development initiatives and projects. The success of these initiatives has been reflected in the UAE achieving a leading ranking in the ‘World Happiness Report’ and quality of life indexes over the past years.
