“We celebrate this Zayed Humanitarian Work Day by renewing our commitment to following the footsteps of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan in the path of giving and charity work, inspired by his wisdom and upholding the values he instilled in us. On this special occasion, we look back upon the good deeds that became integral aspects of our exceptional leader’s journey, as he sought to instil the values of goodness, giving, and generosity in the generations. The UAE government has always remained keen to promote humanitarian and charitable work through specialised institutions that ensure that these values live on and that their outcomes reach the needy. The Zayed Humanitarian Work Day has become a day to celebrate what the UAE has achieved and continues to achieve in the field of humanitarian and charitable work, as an expression of gratitude to the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan’s role in establishing the culture of giving in the country. It commemorates the good deeds of the pioneer of humanitarian work. Today, the UAE is extending its helping hand to all corners of the world, and is working to alleviate suffering and develop communities in many countries around the world. These efforts fall in line with the directives of H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE; his brother H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; and H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. On this day, we, at the Supreme Legislation Committee, renew our commitment to supporting the humanitarian and charitable efforts led by the UAE government, and to following on the path of our founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who made the UAE an international humanitarian hub known for its culture of giving and generosity.”
