Statement by H.E. Ahmad Saeed bin Meshar Al Muhairi Secretary General of the Supreme Legislation Committee in the Emirate of Dubai On The Emirati Children's Day
15/03/2021

The UAE once again celebrates the Emirati Children's Day on the 15th of March which symbolises the country's proactive efforts to provide a safe and nurturing environment for children with ample opportunity to develop a positive character which is required for achieving happiness, excellence, and prosperity.

The date was marked by Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, and Chairwoman of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, supported by our wise leadership that believes that the new generation is the real wealth and the main driving force for global advancement towards a brighter future.

As the UAE continues to take extraordinary steps towards global leadership in sectors including space, technology, and science, it becomes the need of the hour to train and equip our young generation with knowledge, creativity, persistence, and determination to shape and create a better future. The UAE continues to be amongst leading countries in child welfare and protection under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of UAE Armed Forces.

Our leaders have always advocated for introducing legislative and regulatory frameworks to ensure the development of children, so they become the torchbearers for the UAE development on a global scale.

On this day, we, at the Supreme Legislation Committee in the Emirate of Dubai, reiterate our commitment to support the development of modern and balanced legislation that ensures the welfare of UAE children, and that represents the foundation for achieving the ambitious goals of the UAE aiming at placing it amongst top global leading countries by 2071.
